I loved the essential premise of the book - homecoming queen and the bad boy have secretly always had a thing for each other but need a dramatic event/change-of-heart to bring them together. However, this book fell short in its execution, mainly because of its organization and pacing. There was a *major* flashback that I think needed to be earlier in the book - I know Lane was trying to create suspense, but I wasn't really invested in this book until I read that flashback. Basically, the book was back-loaded, and all the pertinent information and emotion came too late. I loved the first book in the series, so I'll absolutely read more stuff from Katie Lane, but this one just didn't do it for me.
